If I need clarity, I consult with client management to ensure I have all necessary information,” she explains.

Contrary to popular belief, auditing is far from a mundane, number-crunching job. “One common misconception is that accounting is boring. In reality, it’s dynamic, challenging, and deeply involved in business decision-making.” Each audit brings new challenges, insights, and opportunities to engage with stakeholders across industries.

I remained calm, relied on the audit evidence, and engaged my senior team for guidance. Instead of taking it personally, I focused on maintaining open communication and professionalism.”

Looking ahead, Sandiso has her eyes set on a major milestone—passing the SAICA board exams and becoming a Chartered Accountant CA(SA). “This will open new leadership opportunities and responsibilities for me in the financial industry. I also want to refine my expertise in data analytics and digital auditing tools to stay ahead in this evolving field.”
